Micro Brasserie La Grande Casserole

Presentation

La Grande Casserole is a brand of beers brewed by the Observatoire du Brasseur (Brewer’s Observatory), a unique place combining brewing, direct sales, and the possibility of drinking the beers on site. 10 beers are currently offered for all palates.

Nestled at the foot of the ramparts of Cornillon, in the Gard (Occitania), La Grande Casserole is an artisanal microbrewery with most of its beers labeled Organic Farming (Agriculture Biologique). Each beer is brewed “by hand,” in large pots — or rather, “casseroles” (saucepans), hence its name — using a wooden mash paddle (fourquet), an ancestral and passionate gesture. Brewed by Valérie and Alain, two passionate brewers, the brewery combines expertise, creativity, and the pleasure of sharing. Their Ambition? “To make the La Grande Casserole brewery a place for local meeting and exchange…”

The permanent range is packed with hoppy gems: Blonde (Pale Ale – 5.5% vol.), light and fruity; Ambrée (Amber – 6%), with toasted notes; Blanche (Wheat Beer – 4.5%), delicately malted; IPA (6%), generously hopped; Double IPA (8%), powerful & intense; Brune (Imperial Stout – 7%), rich in toasted malt; Lager (4.5%), smooth and simple. Added to this are the ephemeral beers, known as “Solstices” and “Equinoxes”: four seasonal brews, limited and inspired by the cycles of the year.

A space dedicated to the discovery, tasting, and purchase of our beers. This French-style Biergarten — an open-air observation spot — serves as the on-site bar and tasting area. Ideal for: Tasting on site; Participating in guided brewery tours; Taking an introduction to zythology (beer and food pairings, explanations of malt and hops, etc.); Enjoying a rustic setting: cicadas, sunset, then… the Ursa Major constellation in the sky, as the celestial signature of the evening.

Philosophy & Future: Strong commitment to Organic Farming; Managed transitions between tradition (brewing in a saucepan with a mash paddle) and innovation (new recipes inspired by Germany, Alsace, or elsewhere); The objective: to grow the brewery in the region and expand the beer menu, while preserving a friendly, family, and authentic atmosphere. In Summary: La Grande Casserole is the marriage of a Provençal terroir with a passion inherited from the stars: organic craft beers, brewed in tradition, served under the skies of Cornillon, within a unique and family-friendly space, designed for discovery, meeting, and escape. A must-share… over a good brew and a lucky star!
