Every Friday during the summer, at the end of the day, relive the discovery of the Aven d’Orgnac cave, following in the footsteps of “Robert de Joly” (brought to life by a guide). A narrated, historical tour of that day in August 1935 when the cave was revealed to the world!

Forget the present! Join Robert de Joly, inventor of the Cave, one morning in August 1935.
He is in Orgnac. He has heard that “there is a hole to explore around here….

A hole so deep that you can’t even hear what you throw into it landing at the bottom…

During this tour, you are invited to travel back in time to the first exploration and discover, alongside one of Robert de Joly’s teammates, this new cave of extraordinary dimensions…

Your guide draws inspiration from the writings of the inventor of the Aven d’Orgnac to try to make you feel the extraordinary emotions and wonder aroused by the first exploration in 1935.

Of course, you won’t be entering by hanging from a rope ladder like they did back then, but via the staircase that was later built for the public…!

From 01/07 to 31/08/2026 on Friday between 6 pm and 8 pm.
