Presentation

Two of the repertoire’s most celebrated works will take centre stage during this musical evening: Antonio Vivaldi’s *The Four Seasons* and Felix Mendelssohn’s Octet in E flat major, Op. 20.

The violin concertos collected under the title *The Four Seasons* are among the most famous and universally loved works in the classical repertoire. A veritable musical fresco, vibrant and rich in colour, they evoke the changing landscapes and moods of nature with virtuosity and poetry.
Composed when he was just sixteen, Mendelssohn’s prodigious Octet displays youthful energy and a composition of exceptional richness, combining passion and refinement.

A unique opportunity to discover or rediscover top-class musicians and soloists,
brought together to bring to life all the vitality and momentum of these iconic works, in an intense and inspired musical moment.
