Organ Wednesdays and Sundays: organ concert
Presentation
Michel Chanard showcases the Great Organ of Saint Jean-Baptiste Church with well-known works from the organ repertoire, as well as others that will be new to most of the audience.
A native of Bagnols-sur-Cèze, Michel Chanard has been the titular organist of the recently restored Great Organ at the Church of Saint Jean-Baptiste in Bagnols since 1979, and of the Church of the Holy Martyrs in Marrakesh, Morocco, since 2012.
He specialises in accompanying soloists and various orchestral and vocal ensembles from the region on the organ and piano.
Also a composer and arranger, his works are published by Fortin-Armiane in Paris. His Magnificat, written in February 2024 for solo soprano, mixed choir, two pianos and timpani, will receive its regional premiere in November 2025.
