Concert: La Fontaine Unplugged

Three actor-musicians playfully take on La Fontaine’s fables, rewriting them and turning them into songs. They play with the material, have fun with it, and freely recontextualize it to create offbeat and humorous reinterpretations:

Here, the fashion-obsessed Heron wants to dress in IKKS; the Hare is caught in his own trap by a turtle who, after all, isn’t as wise as one might think; the Crow, addicted to social media, is lured in by a cunning algorithm; Perrette dreams of becoming a “Nouvelle Star” of variety shows… Biting, original variations that stay true to the spirit of the great fabulist.

Drawing on diverse musical influences (’60s folk, rap, waltz, cartoon-style symphony, slam poetry, opera…) and supported by a rich array of instruments (guitars, keyboard, accordion, bells, tuba, shruttibox, and percussion), these three multi-instrumentalist singers take great pleasure in bringing this musical bestiary to life with infectious energy. A show filled with mischievous and lavish lyrics, songs to be seen and heard, alternating between deep reflections and bursts of laughter.
