Le Castellas

Situated on a rocky pyramid overlooking the vast plain of the Bas-Rhône and Comtat regions, in the commune of Saint-Victor-la-Coste, the Castellas proudly displays the vestiges of its medieval past.

Once the property of the Comtes de Sabran, constables to the Comte de Toulouse, the fortress whose remains can be admired today kept a watchful eye on the inhabitants of the village of Saint-Victor-la-Coste below. Its unique position overlooked the entire Rhone Valley, as well as the roads leading to Uzès. Today, this former stronghold remains a favorite spot for walkers, who come here to contemplate the magnificent views.
