Santons de la Forest by Clara de la Forest Divonne

Presentation

In pure Provencal tradition, the santons de Provence used to make Christmas cribs represent the Nativity, as well as the old trades of yesteryear, to create scenes of life in days gone by. You’ll find scenes of Provencal village life, from the shepherd and his sheep, to the goatherd, the remover, the dancing Arlesiennes… and so on.
All these pieces are made in clay, then fired at 960 degrees in a ceramist’s kiln, before being lovingly hand-painted.
Workshop days for adults and children to learn how to make your own santon de Provence, by appointment.
